I moved to Crystal in 1997 with my husband, Walt. We previously rented in St. Louis Park and were grateful to find an affordable home on 34th Avenue (Valley Place Neighborhood). We visited the City of Crystal to get the history of the home, and spoke with a police officer – who said he grew up near our home and a great place to live. 23 years later, we are firmly planted here!
A graduate of North Hennepin Community College, I currently work in administration for a medical clinic. Previously, I worked in marketing industry and was a radio announcer after graduating from Brown College.
My first involvement with the city was becoming an election judge from 2006. In 2011, I was appointed as a Crystal Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission Member. From 2012-2019, I volunteered with Crystal Frolics and served on the committee. In 2015 and 2019, I was appointed to the Crystal Charter Commission by Hennepin County District Court. The Charter is similar to a constitution, and the Commission meets once a year to review and recommend any changes or updates to the City Council.
Crystal is home to 26 parks, which I’m passionate about maintaining and enhancing to meet neighbors’ needs. Our rescued dog, Spencer is a huge fan of the dog parks at Bassett Creek and Lions Valley Place!
I am running for City Council again because our next chapter for Crystal is critical for building momentum and positive growth — to empower neighbors, schools, and local businesses. Our community benefits from a strong and inclusive future, and it would be an honor to represent you for a second term.
